Hello to All and welcome black to the blog,
If you are currently facing a problem or challenge in your life, I ask you this – are you focused on the problem ? Or on the solution?
I recently had cause to give this question a lot of thought myself, and suddenly realised, that in all moments of challenge in our lives, we are all faced with this same choice:
Now - upon first reflection, it may appear that these two are the same thing. But nothing could be further for the truth and in reality – the energy attached to these two perspectives is totally different.
And that is what makes a huge impact on how you approach it.
They are actually equal and opposing forces of the same issue.
Hello all and welcome to the blog,
Today I just want to leave you with the image below – as it says it all and is so very powerful.
Often times we wonder - what am I meant to do with my life?
Why am I here?
What is it that will fill my soul with JOY and then uplift the souls of those around me too?
Well – I think the answer can be found in this one little picture below. Read More
Hi Everyone and welcome to the blog,
Today I simply want to share with you another great quote from Abraham.
This quote requires little explanation from me, so I simply wish to act as a conduit and set it before you, for you to reflect upon at your leisure. Read More
Hello to all and welcome back to the blog,
Of recent times I have heard the word ” tribe” bandied around a lot and it has got me thinking about what ” tribe ” I belong to?
And / or what ” tribe ” I may want to belong to?
Having attended a recent workshop with the amazing Carolyn Myss, she spoke a lot about the effects of tribal consciousness upon our health and well being, so today I invite you to simply examine these three questions:
So – first of all you may be thinking - ” what do you mean by TRIBE?
Hello to all and welcome back to the blog,
It struck me the other day, that perhaps we expect too much of life?
Or rather, perhaps we expect too much from our role in it?
That is – what if we are just one tiny piece of the puzzle and the rest is supposed to remain a mystery?
A mystery that enables us to keep on searching for those final pieces of the puzzle.
A mystery that is destined to never be solved.
A mystery that serves us well, by forever creating new twists and turns and a sense of searching. Read More
Good morning all and welcome back to the blog,
I recently had my first drumming lesson in over a decade.
That is right!
Somehow my work life took over, I prioritised different things and my passion for playing drum-kit had slipped by the wayside and into oblivion. And no doubt, most of you reading this can think of something in your own life, that was once a passion, but that now has taken a back seat.
But the experience on this particular day, was so powerful to me that I really wanted to share it with you all.
And I guess there were three things that surprised me most about this “ decade long wait “ drum lesson:
Hello to all and welcome back,
Today I would like to invite you to ponder one simple question.
Or rather – I would like to invite you to finish one particular statement.
I do this, because I have discovered from my own self-reflections that the answer to this one question, or rather, the finishing of this one statement can tell you a lot about yourself.
You may also discover over time that your answer to this statement will change and so is a great measure of just where you are in your life.
So before you click through and read the statement – grab a pencil and paper and be ready to write whatever leaps into your head, when you read the first part of the statement given.
Do not censor it.
Do not stop writing until you have nothing more to write.
Do not judge.
And do not read any further until you have completed the initial and spontaneous writing task, that will be spurred into action through your initial reaction to the statement given.
Just write and write and write until there is nothing more your soul wishes to reveal to you.
So here is the statement for you to finish……
Hello to all and welcome back,
Recently I was invited to attend an event at the Sydney Opera House, our most prestigious of arts venues in Sydney. I am quite certain that most of you would be familiar with this iconic Australian structure, with its billowing roof, which mimics the sails of a tall ship.
It really is an incredible building, with its most stunning of backdrops, being Sydney Harbour.
I was there as part of the Dance for Parkinsons Team, as we were giving a small presentation as part of the night. The event was the launch for the SOH All Access Initiative, which brings disabled adults and children the opportunity to engage more fully with the arts programmes they offer. It was the most wonderful and inspiring of evenings, as you can imagine. But the real surprise for me came as it was time to leave the building foyer near the Utzon Room and Gift Shop.
For there on the wall was the most incredible wall hanging and quote:
A cheery hello to all and welcome back to the blog,
Today I want to share with you a wonderful quote that I saw recently from Abraham, via Esther and Jerry Hicks. As is often the case, this quote found me at just the right moment and lifted me back up onto an even kilter.
Just as I was starting to feel a little sorry for myself.
Just as I was doubting my contribution to, and purpose in life.
And just as a work event had reaffirmed this very sense of purpose and my place in the world.
It was like a secondary validation was rushed in to greet me via The Universe, before I could pour myself into that dismal hollow of self pity and self doubt, that can be a slippery slope to nowhere that is any good.
A hollow of self created muck, that can very quickly cover you from head to toe in misery and self criticism.
So what did I read that spun me on my heels and issued me forth – back into the land of possibility, self appreciation, gratitude and motivation?
Well – here it is: Read More
Hello to all and welcome back to the ABTY blog,
As is always the case, I am struck by little pearls of wisdom in the most unusual times and places – delivered at the most unsuspecting times! And this one is no different.
In fact, it came from the delightful Keith Urban, as he gave his feedback to a contestant on the singing competition American Idol.
In all honesty, I do not often watch any television anymore, but found myself watching a You Tube clip recommended by a friend of mine, who is a rather wonderful singer. She said that this contestant was truly amazing and special – so I just had to watch. And indeed the lady in question was incredible and inspiring beyond belief.
But it was the comment from judge, Keith Urban, that really struck me.
And this is what he said: Read More
