A solutions based operative or a problems based negativist? Which one are you?

Hello to All and welcome black to the blog,

If you are currently facing a problem or challenge in your life, I ask you this – are you focused on the problem ? Or on the solution?

I recently had cause to give this question a lot of thought myself, and suddenly realised, that in all moments of challenge in our lives, we are all faced with this same choice:

  1. Focus on the problem at hand OR
  2. Focus on the solution

Now  - upon first reflection, it may appear that these two are the same thing. But nothing could be further for the truth and in reality – the energy attached to these two perspectives is totally different.

And that is what makes a huge impact on how you approach it.

They are actually equal and opposing forces of the same issue.

  1. Focus on the problem at hand = growing the negativity attached to the problem
  2. Focus on the solution = growing the positive energy attached to the solution

When you look at it this way it appears so simple – and it is ha ha ha! But yet we seem as a species to generally gravitate to Number One:

  1. Focusing on the problem at hand = growing the negative energy attached to the problem

I am sure you can see this is most likely not the best option and instead – we could, in these moments of conflict or challenge choose option Number Two:

2. Focusing on the solution = growing the positive energy attached to the solution

I will agree however, that in the heat of a dilemma it can be difficult to remember this and act accordingly, but nonetheless, it is worth committing to memory and strategising to change old patterns that may drive you to this self defeating and negative behaviour.

For instance – you may be feeling lethargic and sluggish and unhealthy and uninspired in your life:

  1. Option One / focusing on the problem =  focus on feeling terrible, drown yourself in comfort foods and alcohol and continue to feel terrible – getting progressively worse as time marches on. You are focusing on the perceived difficulties and failures that have lead you to where you are – growing them more and more with each day that passes. Digging yourself into a deeper hole.

2. Option Two / focusing on the solution =  get out of the house, find a hobby, exercise daily and actively work towards feeling better. You are looking towards the solution and working towards it.

As I read this, I really can not believe how simple it is ha ha ha – and as someone who can tend to be very self critical and quite negative at times   – [focusing on the problem as opposed to the solution ]…………I shall jot this one down on a post it and stick it to my forehead for future reference I think ha ha ha.

Life really is so simple and affords us the opportunity to move forwards all the time.

The opportunity to fine tune our blue print of life!

The opportunity to see a better self and a better way!

The opportunity to choose a positive flow instead of a negative one!

But the catch is – that You have to choose it.

You have to make the choice and act on it.

You have to choose to focus on the solutions you need, to activate in your life, the results you want!

You have to take charge!

And there is lies the rub.

You have to trust in You 100% and get on with the job of activating positivity within your life and focusing on those solutions.

So today – I invite you to become a ” solutions based operative” in your own life and not a “problems based negativist”! [ is that a word ha ha ah ah??]

Be aware. Make the changes you need and see the difference it can make.

So today I encourage you to try this little experiment of You!

Who knows where it may lead?
