The Parlour of Procrastination! Are you spending too much time there?

Dear friends,

In recent times I have had a number of challenges both professionally and personally.

Situations that have filled me with fear and dread.

Fear that is all encompassing and at times quite debilitating. Paralysing in fact.

Fear that has left me incapable of organising my way out of a paper bag.

Fear that has left projects languishing in the Parlour of Procrastination – for years!

And what have I discovered?

That the only way to deal with fear is head on.

Proactively and purposefully. Read More

Your world is your mirror – it’s as simple as that

Hello Everyone and welcome back to the blog,

If you a regular reader you will know that earlier this year I went to Sedona, in Phoenix, Arizona to attend a workshop with Caroline Myss. This was followed by a series of ” shamanic endeavours” amongst the red rocks of Sedona. Guided hikes with people who are intrinsically connected with nature and have a different view on the world.

It really was profound and moving and incredible in so many different ways.

And there is one experience I had with a guide  / shaman that I wish to share with you all.

A simple experience that packed a punch and set me thinking.

Embrace Your Inner Random and see the JOY it can bring

Well – hello to all and welcome back to the blog.

Today I would like to touch upon one of the most JOY inducing experiences I have ever had – and one that I have not experienced often. In fact I am experiencing it right now.

Quite unexpectedly.

Quite easily.

Quite simply.

I am sitting here feeling enlivened, happy and full of beans.

So what is this JOY inducing act I hear you ask?

Well the answer is quite amazing to me…….

It is quite simply what I call Randomness.

Love on a Licence Plate.

Hello to all and welcome,

It is funny how the simplest of things can change your mood and impact your day in an instant. And for some reason I find such occurrences to be quite fascinating, as they can really put your life into perspective sometimes……..and in an instant too.

And this was one of those occasions.

One of those times when I was really struck by how my mood had instantly shifted and how quickly and seamlessly it had all happened. Read More

Humanity! A living breathing treasure!

Hello to all and welcome to the Blog,

Today I have  little bit of commentary to lift your spirits, as you blaze into another working week.

And I am really excited to present to you my latest concept – not for your agreement necessarily – but certainly for your  contemplation and consideration.

And this concept is, my friends –  That humanity is indeed a living treasure.

Just like the Great Barrier Reef, we represent a large expanse of intelligence and creativity and evolution that is quite simply breathtaking, when fully acknowledged for all its diverse parts.

But I feel that perhaps many of us have been hoodwinked into only seeing the chaos, cruelty and crippling commercialism of our current world.  In my opinion, a very one sided and quite frankly – biased view of what we humans bring to The Planet.

We represent so much more.

We can give so much more.

And we do.

The Gratitude Bear and Things to Love!

Hello to all and welcome,

I was recently visiting a friend, when we got to discussing gratitude.

Gratitude – that wonderful thing that leads to a lot more good stuff showing up in one’s life.

It was a most timely discussion actually, as I was in the throws of a rather self piteous episode and it pulled me up strong and hard. I truly had forgotten to take stock of all the good in my life for a while – and let me confess that there is indeed plenty of good in my world!

It got me thinking about how I could make sure that I did always attend to this expression of gratitude, without it sometimes becoming a casualty of a busy and distracted life.

And then – my delightful friend, solved the entire dilemma for me.

With one quick revelation……

Depression, anxiety and my top 5 tips for getting back on top.

Hello to all and welcome back,

In recent times I have struggled with quite terrible depression and yet for many people around me, they would perceive me as very jolly and in control. I mean, I write this very upbeat blog after all and all my Facebook posts are so cheerful and positive. Surely I must be living the perfect life and have everything under control?

Well, as it happens, I am the perfect example that things are not always as they appear to be. And for that reason I have decided to write about it, in the hope that others of you out there, who may be suffering in silence and feeling all alone, will find a ” way out” of the void that can so quickly grab you and swallow you up.

Because there is nothing worse than that feeling of nothingness.

There is nothing worse than not wanting to get out of bed in the morning.

And there is nothing worse than feeling like there is no point in getting up and that you are all alone.

HOW RICH ARE YOU?

Hello travellers and welcome back to the blog,

I recently came across the most wonderful idea and it really caused me to stop and think.

The statement that I read was simply this:

You are as rich as what you can do without.

At first I really had to think about this, as it is a bit of a brain-teaser in a way. A backward, roundabout way of looking at the issue of what is truly important in your life.

Seeing the good in everything – make that your goal for today!

Hi Everyone and welcome back to the blog,

Today I thought I would mention how easy it is to ” see the bad ” in a situation as opposed to seeing the good.

As with all things, this came to my mind as I stood in a florist deciding on a purchase. The attendant was clearly having a bad day and my questions regarding the various watering requirements, for the various cacti on display, was not garnering me any smiles or good points.

In fact – I was just about to give up and walk out, when I decided to try a different approach.

I moved around to a happy looking cactus, made a joke about its cute little spikes and managed to garner a smile from this lady.

And all of a sudden my purchasing experience seemed to turn around.

The lady was smiling and suddenly chatting  - even asking if the cactus was a gift etc etc

Which it was.

And I suddenly thought to myself……….” this could have turned out very differently” had I been my impatient self and commented on her lack lustre attitude at the beginning of my shopping experience.

And I guess that is how most days can be for all of us…… Read More

Bring your heart back to centre, with the forgiveness of You!

Hello and welcome back to the blog,

Of recent times I have been thinking about the Power of Forgiveness.

But more specifically – the Power to Forgive ones self.

It seems that we can be so quick to forgive those around us for various things, but then so very slow to forgive ourselves. Our failures seem to become magnified out of all proportion and we can suddenly descend into this cavernous, all encompassing grief, rejection and self  criticism.

So today – I just wanted to say – ” It is OK”!!!

That’s right.

You are only human.

We are only human.

And we all deserve to feel loved and accepted and honoured……..despite our failings and flaws.

You deserve to feel loved and accepted and honoured……..despite your failings and flaws.  Read More
