Well hello and a cheery greeting to all,
For those of you that know me personally, you will be aware that as I go about my daily business, I always carry little “post it ” notes with me and jot down any ideas or thoughts that catch my attention during the day. It could be a quote, a picture, a sentiment or an idea. And there is one such idea that I came across whilst travelling a few months ago.
In all fairness – I can not remember where this flicker of an idea came from – but I rediscovered the general idea on one of my “post it” notes and wanted to share it with you today.
I have chosen to present it as a spin off, of that most famous John F Kennedy Speech: ” Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country”, as I suddenly thought it could be a great paradigm shift for our general living and attitude to life.
Instead of us always expecting life to bring us something and complaining when it doesn’t – perhaps we could instead be thinking about what we can bring to life? Read More
Well hello travellers,
Today I just wanted to mention the power that you all have to create the environment you wish to live in.
That sounds pretty obvious doesn’t it? But I am constantly amazed by the negativity people allow into their lives on a daily basis, without any seeming realisation of the fact……and then they seem to wonder why they feel depressed and angst ridden and stressed out.
So my advice today, is to simply do two things:
1. Identify the leading causes of toxicity in your life
2. Turn off the tap
That is it. Job well done. Happy Days as I would say.
Hello again and Happy New Year to you All,
By now you should all be basking in the glory of a New Year, with your BluePrint of You close at hand, feeling happy and confident for the year ahead. So given this assumption of positivity, I thought I would try and keep you on this path to JOY with a quick reminder:
Misery Loves Company………….but So Too Does Joy. Read More
Dear All,
As the New Year approaches, I feel it is so important to think about what you want for 2016, before it is upon you.
Before the stroke of midnight, when everyone makes panicked promises to themselves.
Before the stroke of midnight and the realisation that your life is perhaps not all you wish it to be.
Before the stroke of midnight, when champagne in hand you start to hurriedly contemplate the New Year and how the year ahead will be so much better than 2015.
But will it be?
Before sunrise on January 1st when some of you may feel lost and alone. When all the merriment of Xmas and NYE disappears – you need to have formulated your plan.
You need to have the true measure of You.
The true measure of where you are now – on the precipice of 2016.
The true measure of the ever fluid and ever changing person that is You.
The true measure of where you are heading in 2016 – even if that heading is simply to trust life and cast adrift on a new and unknown path.
THE BLUEPRINT OF YOU FOR 2016!!!
The knowing and understanding of this “blueprint ” just maybe the key to your happiness in the New Year.
And it is not as difficult as you may think.
Dear All,
Well it has certainly been a very long time since I have written a blog, so for those of you who have been sending me messages wondering when the next one would be – I do apologise. The simple truth, is that I have simply not felt at all compelled to write.Until this very moment.
And being that ABTY is all about spreading a message of doing and being and becoming ” what is right for you” – I didn’t want to force myself to write, as I truly felt that would be somehow disingenuous.
So here I am sitting in my hotel room and I thought – I think I have something to say again.
Hello to all,
This morning was an interesting one for me.
I rose feeling full of beans and ready to take on the world….and then it began.
I had a disagreement with some friends, I spilled my cup of coffee all over the carpet, my blog would not upload and then I missed my mouth and poured coffee all down my pyjamas.
It took all of this for me to get the message and listen.

Hello to you all and welcome to another week,
I have recently found myself caught in a whirlwind of busy-ness and doing-ness and was struck by how “out of kilter” I became – and quite quickly too. And what I discovered is that I really do need a lot of time on my own each and every week, in order to feel balanced and calm.
In fact, mid last week, I found myself in the constant state of “interacting with other people” and I really began to feel quite anxious. This anxiety was also caused by a few new things I was required to do with my work and I did feel a little overwhelmed – so I knew I had to do something to last out the week.
I had to do something to keep me settled whilst I ventured quite far from my comfort zone.
So what did I do?
I simply took time out for me and got back to nature.
Hello again and welcome to the blog,
Much has been written and spoken about The Law of Attraction – that mysterious thing that supposedly brings all good things into your life. And equally, much has been said about how this Law of Attraction does not work, and leaves people feeling disillusioned and without hope.
There seems to be a whole host of people who claim that this Law is true to its word and others who claim it to be hokey - but I guess what I am suggesting today, is that there could be one small ingredient missing in this whole equation.
And that is your feelings……and how they act as a giant antenna. Read More
Good morning to all and welcome back to the blog,
Your problem or theirs?
This is a very interesting question that I pose this fine morning and one that has at times, very much impacted upon my own life – and that question is:
If you will never be good enough for some people – is that your problem or theirs?
Now if you really give this matter some thought you may come to the conclusion that your answer could very much affect your happiness on the Planet and your own experience of the world, as there is nothing worse than feeling that you can never measure up to someone else’s standards.
I have always simply turned down another road, created something particular to me, that showcases what I can do and chosen to just “do my own thing” . But you can still face that challenging nagging of other people’s judgement.
Hello hello hello and welcome to the ABTY Blog,
I was recently in the elevator of my apartment building during the peak hour morning rush, and happened to be in a particularly cheerful mood. Now the only reason I noticed my mood to be particularly cheerful was that the man beside me commented upon it as such.
I had simply wished him a delightful day, with a smile on my face and a spring in my step, as I bounded into the lift.
He was so stunned, that he actually looked up from his i-phone to see from whom this bizarre comment and suggestion had come ha ha.
Apparently it is not normal to be looking forward to the week on a Monday?
In fact, he commented to me: ” You are rather cheerful for a Monday morning. Where is your Monday-itis?”
Mmmmmmmmm I pondered………
And this question really got me thinking……..
But it did not get me thinking where my Monday-itis was……….
