A life affirming hello to all,
Well – this blog is a little late and I do apologise for that.
But I have been on a personal quest here in Sedona for the past few weeks and it has been taking all my attention to be honest. And like I always say, it is good to be focused in the present and the now – with whatever you are attracted to at the time.
Having said that – I just wanted to share with you this little quote that really struck me the other day, as it hung on my hotel room door. [ they deliver a little quote every day at Enchantment and it gives you something to ponder as the sun sets on another glorious day].
It goes like this…… Read More
Hello to all from the wonderful land of Sedona,
Oh what a treat I have had for the past 5 days, experiencing this magical place for the first time.
And what lessons seem to be flying at me thick and fast from all manner of directions.
So today, I just want to share with you the little whisper that came to me from a little icicle.
That’s right – you did read that correctly – from a little icicle.
A little icicle that was dangling from my bathroom window the very first day I arrived. Read More
Hello to Everyone and welcome again to the blog,
It is so interesting to me, that sometimes the most poignant moments and most vivid lessons, can be delivered in the most unexpected places by the most unexpected person. And this was a case in point a few weeks ago when I made one of my usual ” after travel trips” to my local dry cleaner.
I visit my dry cleaner relatively frequently, so we always have a bit of a chat and catch up when I happen into his shop with my arms laden with clothes for dry cleaning or repair.
On this occasion we happened to get chatting about relaxation, time out, having some down time etc and this led us into the topic of fishing – and the most extraordinary revelation and lesson soon came to me.
The story goes something like this….. Read More
Hello again and welcome back to the ABTY Blog,
Have you ever noticed how a lot of really good things seem to spring up from what we would perceive as bad experiences?
Situations that are loaded with confrontation, sadness, loss, grief, confusion, adversity or trauma seem to often lead to a re-awakening of some other part of life? The Universe steps in and fills the void – whatever it is.
New opportunities can follow.
New and surprising meetings with new people can pop up.
And new situations and directions in life, that we may never have thought of, without this difficult event, can somehow get triggered and evolve out of the most challenging moments.
But yet – when we are in the midst of these crisis points in our lives, it is often most difficult to stay calm and look ahead to the cloudy skies clearing and the bluebirds of happiness visiting our doors again. We can become trapped in a sense of hopelessness and distress.
So today I simply want to pose a new concept or way of looking at these times to you.
And the concept is simply this: Read More
Hello to all and welcome to the blog,
I awoke this morning with the thought that perhaps life is simply an opportunity to explore.
An exploration of self.
An exploration of how that “self” interacts with its surroundings.
An exploration of what it means to be alive.
So my question today is simply to ask – what have you recently discovered about yourself?
If you had to write a list right now, what would pop into your head? For it seems to me that it is a constant updating of information. A constant flowing of ideas. A constant discovery and re-calibrating of who we are and how we perceive we fit in, to the grander scheme of things.
A huge hello to all,
I trust that 2016 is treating you all well, and that you are travelling down life’s path with a song in your heart and a spring in your step.
A few days ago, I came across a wonderful quote from Abraham via Esther and Jerry Hicks, and as with many of their words of wisdom, this one really got me thinking. So today, I simply want to share this insight with you and leave you to ponder it for yourself.
Why?
Because it really touches upon the one thing that I feel is so very important in our lives today, and something I feel we are often discouraged from developing. And that is…..
A sense of self.
A sense of self discovery.
A sense of self importance.
A belief that we matter, just as much as everyone else around us.
A belief that we matter as much as everyone around us who relies on us for one thing or another, whether it be work, family or socially related.
So here it is:
Well hello again travellers and welcome to the blog,
Today I am once again reminding you of some things to be aware of as you travel down life’s path. Things that I find I need to be wary of myself. And one of the most misleading things to be mindful of in this age of social media, is in my opinion Facebook – or” Fakebook “as I believe it could also be called.
Why do I say this you may ask?
Well – it is because of my own personal experiences with this medium and what I have observed on it.
Myriads of friends and acquaintances posting how wonderful their lives are with big happy smiles and oodles of pictures of great deeds, wonderful adventures and exciting tales.
But then – when I meet up with them – they collapse in a heap and reveal how ” not so fabulous life is treating them?”
So why the facade? Read More
Hello again travellers and welcome back,
Today’s blog is really going to be very short and sweet.
Just a quick reminder really, that worry is the greatest time waster of all time – so I strongly encourage you to stay away from it.
To quote the wonderful Maya Angelou:
” If you don’t like something – change it.
And if you can’t change it – change your attitude to it” Read More
Well hello again travellers and welcome to the ABTY blog,
If you are anything like me, then you may sometimes find yourself pondering the age old questions of ” why am I here?”, ” what’s the point?”, ” what am I meant to be doing with my life ?”.
I have given these timeless questions much thought over the years and have settled upon the idea, that all you are meant to do is uncover what it is that you absolutely love – and then share it.
That’s it.
No more and no less.
I have come to the conclusion that we, as human beings tend to overcomplicate our lives, when the reality of it all is so very simple.
1. Discover who you are and what you love
2. Share it with the people around you
So how is it that we can get so confused and waylaid along the way? Read More
Well another cheery greeting to you all,
Today I just wanted to remind you of the possibility of Miracles appearing in your life – and usually when they are least expected. In my opinion and from my own experience, all you need to do is entertain the possibility that the Universe is your co-conspirator in creating the life you have always wanted and then simply settle back and watch the magic play out.
If you ask me all you need is awareness and a little bit of belief.
So what leads me to make such extraordinary claims you ask?
Just the observations of my own life.
And for you – it may just be the replaying of your own life story that brings you to the same conclusion. Read More
