A huge hello to all,
I trust that 2016 is treating you all well, and that you are travelling down life’s path with a song in your heart and a spring in your step.
A few days ago, I came across a wonderful quote from Abraham via Esther and Jerry Hicks, and as with many of their words of wisdom, this one really got me thinking. So today, I simply want to share this insight with you and leave you to ponder it for yourself.
Why?
Because it really touches upon the one thing that I feel is so very important in our lives today, and something I feel we are often discouraged from developing. And that is…..
A sense of self.
A sense of self discovery.
A sense of self importance.
A belief that we matter, just as much as everyone else around us.
A belief that we matter as much as everyone around us who relies on us for one thing or another, whether it be work, family or socially related.
So here it is:
If we were standing in your physical shoes, that would be our dominant quest: Entertaining Yourself, pleasing Yourself, connecting with Yourself, being Yourself, enjoying Yourself, loving Yourself. Some say, “Well, Abraham you teach selfishness.” And we say, yes we do, yes we do, yes we do, because unless you are selfish enough to reach for that connection, you don’t have anything to give anyone, anyway. And when you are selfish enough to make that connection—you have an enormous gift that you give everywhere you are.

This really reached out and grabbed me.
Especially the final phrase:
And when you are selfish enough to make that connection—you have an enormous gift that you give everywhere you are.
How wonderful.
Doesn’t it make you want to take the time to invest in YOU, so then you can truly give your gift to those around you?
Doesn’t it make you want to wrap your gifts up with a bright red bow and hand them out merrily to all those around you?
Doesn’t it make you feel excited about just what could be bubbling away inside you, that just needs a little more nurturing so it can come out and shine a light all around?
Sometimes I feel that the society we have created, encourages us to tow the line, be the same, seek less of what is truly important to us, more of what is important to the status quo and then it dazzles us with a whole heap of nothing, to keep us distracted from discovering the fullness of who we are and who we can be.
So today I simply pose the question:
Why not be the fullness of who you can be?
Why not seek out the importance of you, and what is important to YOU?
Why not take a leap of faith and embrace all your gifts, so you can share them with the world around you, to fully experience and JOY of giving and impact those around you with the uniqueness and glory of YOU?
Perhaps the thing we are meant to be giving each other…….is simply each other.
Nothing more and nothing less.
Perhaps your biggest gift to the world is simply – YOU.
So – why not take the time to revel in you and bring the best YOU there can possibly be to the forefront of your life.
Some may call it selfish – but to me it seems like a rather grand investment in both yourself and the Planet.
For when you are selfish enough to make that connection—you have an enormous gift that you give everywhere you are.
How wonderful.

And share it around.
