Dear All,

As the New Year approaches, I feel it is so important to think about what you want for 2016, before it is upon you.

Before the stroke of midnight, when everyone makes panicked promises to themselves.

Before the stroke of midnight and the realisation that your life is perhaps not all you wish it to be.

Before the stroke of midnight, when champagne in hand you start to hurriedly contemplate the New Year and how the year ahead will be so much better than 2015.

But will it be?

Before sunrise on January 1st when some of you may feel lost and alone. When all the merriment of Xmas and NYE disappears – you need to have formulated your plan.

You need to have the true measure of You.

The true measure of where you are now – on the precipice of 2016.

The true measure of the ever fluid and ever changing person that is You.

The true measure of where you are heading in 2016 – even if that heading is simply to trust life and cast adrift on a new and unknown path.

THE BLUEPRINT OF YOU FOR 2016!!!

The knowing and understanding of this “blueprint ” just maybe the key to your happiness in the New Year.

And it is not as difficult as you may think.

With a little bit of thought – I believe that indeed 2016 can unfurl itself around you, in a glorious testament to you.

A testament to who you really are.

A testament to what you consider important.

A testament to the people who really matter to you in your life.

A testament to who and what makes you smile.

A testament to all you wish to achieve.

But first – you just need to line your proverbial ducks up in a row and consider those five topics above.

So today I invite you to grab and pencil and some paper and head up five sheets with the headings above:

1. Who am I? -  on here simply write what you love about yourself, who you think you are, observations about yourself [ both good and challenging ]. You might write down qualities you already possess and you might add in qualities or attributes that you aspire to. You may write habits that you are not too fond of as well. Do not overthink it. Just let the words fall easily and effortlessly onto the page – no matter how silly or surprising to you they may seem. Write until you feel that you have nothing else to say about who you are. Just close your eyes and ask that question:”Who am I?” – and let the little voice within answer until it has nothing left to say on the topic.

2. What do I consider important?  - and here you go again. Close your eyes for a moment and listen to the murmurings of your heart. What things do you love talking about? What activities are you drawn to? What do you always seem to have time for, no matter how busy you are? What issues or activities are of interest to you? What conversations do you find yourself having over and over again with friends and colleagues? Again – just let the words spill onto the page and keep writing until there is nothing left for you to say about what you consider important.

3. Who matters to me in my life? –  on this page, just cast your mind back over the year and think, who are the people who really matter to you? Perhaps they are people you have spent a lot of time with in 2015? Perhaps they are people you did not see at all? Perhaps they are still living? Perhaps they have passed on? There are no rules here – again – just let the words come to you and the page. These people maybe family members, teachers, friends, public figures you have never met personally but whom inspire you in some way. Again – just write down who they are and why they matter to you.

4. Who and what makes me smile? –  now this list is a really good barometer of things that are making a positive contribution to your life. So this list is for those people, places, things and activities that plaster a smile across your face, filling you with JOY. This could include anything and everything – so again – close your eyes for a few minutes and just ask your inner voice: ” what makes me smile?”. You might just be surprised at how many things come tumbling out onto the page. But keep writing and writing and writing until there is just nothing left to say. Your list may include things like: playing a great rugby game, talking to my neighbour, walking in the park, baking some scones, meeting friends in the local pub, playing violin, hiking a mountain, canyoning, eating at a nice restaurant, travelling, smelling a rose, seeing a great event your organised coming together, seeing your bank balance increase…………..You get the drift ha ha ha – and it will be different for everyone. There are no right or wrong answers here.

5. What do I wish to achieve in my life? - now this may be as simple as growing some nice produce in your garden. It could be making your children feel loved. It could be writing your first novel. It could be bringing awareness to an issue that is of importance to you. It could be losing weight. It could be learning to love and accept yourself. It could be setting a new paradigm in your life in some way…..moving house, changing jobs, starting or leaving a relationship. It could be achieving nothing at all and relaxing and learning to go with the flow. It could be setting up a volunteer organisation in your area to feed people. It could be getting more involved in your local school. It could be to learn to tap dance. It may be to simply find joy in every day. Again – close your eyes and let the answers come from your heart. From the little voice within. Let your hand caress the page and the words gently rain down upon it.

Now I want you to just sit, relax and just be.

Wait for 10 minutes and allow all that writing to settle.

And then – re-read those five lists.

Read about who you are, what you love, whom you want to be around, what you like to do.

Read the story of who you truly are, as revealed to you by your soul.

Read and listen to the murmurings of your heart.

Read and take in the BluePrint of Your Soul, as told by you.

And now – you have a little map to guide you through the year ahead. Not a map of things and stuff and silly, unachievable, angst ridden NYE resolutions.

Instead – you now have in your hands the BluePrint of You.

The BluePrint of what really matters to You.

The BluePrint of where your soul knows You need to be.

The BluePrint that is designed solely for You  and no-one else.

The Blue Print that can chart your course, and ground you with a sense of who you are, and where you want to be, as the year progresses.

All you need to do is start with You, and return to You throughout 2016, and it will no doubt be the most exciting and rewarding year ever,

#Discover You, #Love You, #Be You

And live to the BluePrint of You

Christine
