Hello to all and welcome back to the blog,
So often I hear people telling me about all the time they have put aside for others. Times scheduled doing and accomplishing a myriad of things.
Date night with their spouse.
Sporting games with their children.
Travel with their friends.
Dinner with the relatives.
Movies with their cousin.
Volunteering at the school fair.
The list goes on and on and on…….
But not often do I hear people tell me about the times they have set aside for themselves.
Time just for them.
Or rather – time just for you!
So today I want to ask you the question: when was the last time you scheduled in time just for you?
I imagine that most of you are struggling to think of a time when you did just that. And I mean more than taking time for a 5 minute power nap or a quick bath with a random candle lit for a few minutes or so!
I mean – when was the last time you allocated yourself time to just relax, take time out and enjoy your own space without having to answer to anyone? Time without having to participate in group activities with anyone else? Time without having to answer a continuous stream of work emails?
Time that is just for you!
Perhaps you could schedule a weekend away – with just You?
Perhaps you could schedule a week off work to amble around and potter at home – with just You?
Perhaps you could schedule a night to take yourself out to dinner – just You?
Whilst many of you may find it odd to spend time on your own, you may be surprised at just how freeing it can be to just have yourself for company. And you may be surprised at just how alarming the silence may be.
Confronting even.
Unnerving.
Awkward.
A silence and space filled with nothing but you.
But it is in these moments of self imposed silence that you may just be able to find yourself and discover the little voice within that has been trying to catch your attention for ages.
The Little Voice that holds the key to who you really are.
The Little Voice that holds the key to where you really want to be.
The Little Voice that holds the key to what truly is important to you in your life.
The Little Voice that has been blocked out by the endless activities you have added to your overbearing calendar for years.
Sure – it may seem selfish at first if you are not used to it. But spending time in solitude is the most self defining activity you can engage in. And it can be the most rewarding too. Giving you time to clarify exactly what it is that you are aiming for in life – as opposed to running about in a frenzy of activity all the time, not knowing exactly why you are doing all that running about at all.
But it takes planning.
Just like all that frenzied running about.
So today I invite you to schedule a little You Time and set about getting to know that Little Voice Within.
Become acquainted.
Say hello.
Listen to its wisdom.
You may be surprised just what it reveals.
#DiscoverYouLoveYouBeYou – and love every moment with You!
