Have you got a watch but no time?

Hello to all and welcome to the ABTY Blog for today,

Today’s blog really is going to be most short and sweet so to speak, as I simply want to pose an interesting question to you and leave you to think about it:

Do you have a watch – but never seem to have any time?

If you are like most of the population you are most likely answering that question right now quite easily and effortlessly with the  standard: ” You bet – I never have enough time to get everything done”.

Well – what I want to say to you today is – does that not strike you as a little weird? A little odd?

That we as a society have created, designed and invented numerous things to help us keep time – but yet we are yet to figure out how to actually have the time we need?

Mmmmmmm – interesting isn’t it.

We have created all these mechanisms to “keep time” and yet we have not figured out a way to actually “have time”.

We seem to be constantly rushing about from here to there, to this and to that – but for what?

Is this constant rushing about truly necessary?

In this rush to be “on time” are we actually compromising our ability to enjoy the time we have?

And is “time of the essence” as they say?

I contemplated this as I rushed out of my house, to catch a train, to meet a friend ha ha ha.

Suddenly I thought to myself – ” wow – it is such a stunning day – why am I almost running to the train station? I can get the next train if I miss this one and will only be a little later in my arrival time for my friend. I can let him know, get there 15 minutes later and the world will not stop ha ha ha ha”.

And so I walked to the train station, in a relaxed manner, taking in all the beauty around me. The sunshine on my face, the ants on the footpath, the birds tweeting in the trees.

And guess what?

I did miss the first train.

But guess what else?

I got the next one and all was just fine and dandy in my world.

So – the theme for today is this:

Are you caught up in scheduling your time as opposed to experiencing your life within that time?

Is time restricting you rather than liberating you?

How do you use your time?

Have you allowed the measurement of time to become your slave master, instead of the enjoyment of time to be your companion?

Time – make of it what you will. But is there any point measuring something that you can never have enough of?

Or does the simple act of measuring time, create its subsequent lack?
