A wonderful Friday welcome to all,

Today’s blog is a celebration of friendship.

A celebration of all those wonderful people who truly bring meaning and joy to your life.

A celebration of all those, who through thick and thin, stand by you and hold your hand.

A celebration of all those who rise to the occasion when you need them most.

In short – a celebration of those who really matter to you.

Often times we can end up focusing on all the sadness, unfairness, irritation or grief in our lives – but in these moments, I suggest to you – to refocus on all those wonderful friends who rise to the top when you need them the most.

Focus on the good, see the good, be the good and the good will expand, envelope you and lift you up.

Focus on these good friends and their counsel, see the good in these friends and their care for you, be the good and reflect it back to these wonderful friends and again –  the good will expand, envelope you and lift you up.

So what exactly is a friend you may ask?

Well – to me – no-one sums it up better than the amazing C S Lewis who is quoted as saying:

A friend is someone who knows the song in your heart and can sing it back to you when you have forgotten the words.

C S Lewis

Isn’t that just beautiful.

So poetic – so beautiful and so just.

For me, simply by reading the quote, I become aware of my own song in my own heart and it starts to resonate within me as the words themselves fall from the page and stir my soul. And thoughts of occasions when those very friends mentioned, have indeed reminded me of that song – my song.

By simply humming the remnants of a tune long forgotten, singing a verse of a ballad long since left to languish or clicking their heels to a fabulous little number I used to dance to in my youth perhaps – these friends stir my soul.

They connect me back to my heart. To my centre.

They remind me of my truth and the musical that truly reflects my passage of time and purpose as a human being on the Planet.

So today – I simply invite you to reflect upon two things:

1. Who are your friends who bring you back to you? The friends who hum your song back to you, when you have forgotten the tune and remind you of the very essence of you?

2. And what is the song that you have composed, that fills your world with music, life and love? What is the story of your heart and soul? How does your tune sound and what is your musical journey?

When you can answer those two questions, they can be pivotal in keeping you on the right track – Your track.

They can keep you singing your song, whistling your tune, dancing to the beat of your own drum and remembering your opera, your very own musical and your harmonic path.

The one written and composed especially for You.

By You.

In anticipation of You.

So today – be a brass band. Be a violin concerto. Be the quiet strains of a harp or the beating of a timpani. Be a trumpet. Be a viola. Be a piano. Be a string quartet. Be a rock band. Be a pop song.

Simply be the song that exists in your heart and soul.

And love every minute of singing this song to the world.

Your song. Your love. Your life.

#DiscoverYou, #LoveYou, #BeYou
