FORGIVE FORGET AND FORGE AHEAD – MY EASTER GIFT TO YOU

As we enter into Easter Celebrations I thought I would share with you my take on this time of year.

It is not for me to tell others what to believe, or what to do, at this time of year, because everyone has their own history, beliefs and traditions that inform how they celebrate this special time of the year.

So firstly I wish you a wonderful and meaningful time, in whatever way and ritual that is relevant to you, your families and friends.

For me, Easter represents a time of death and renewal.

The Death of what is no longer working or needed in my life, and then the Birth and Renewal of all that I see in my future.

A time to flush out the old and usher in the new.

All those little “eggs” I see in various chocolatey forms are a constant reminder, that at any time I can decide to be “reborn”. Like a tiny, baby chick entering the world for the first time.

I can reinvent myself.

I can add some new chapters to my story.

I can see my world with new eyes.

At the same time  - all those hot cross buns remind me that I can get rid of anything that is not working in my life, to make room for what is to come. It is possible and it is OK to move on and let go of the past.

Forgive, forget and forge ahead.

For me it is a really exciting time of the year and one that represents so much hope and possibility.

To me Easter represents the cycles of life: Death – Rebirth – Growth – Possibility

So – if this approach is appealing to you, as a possible adjunct to your current Easter Practices, then grab and pen and paper and write two lists:

1. List One = What is going to go? That is what are you ready to let go of from your life to make room for something new?

2. List Two – What is going to stay or even be added to your life. That is – where do you see yourself headed in the future?

On List One simply write down any activities, past times or habits that you are ready to let go of. They will be things that you have decided no longer serve your highest good. That is they no longer bring you the same joy, excitement or pleasure that they once did.

Like they say ” Out with the old and in with the new”!

On List Two simply write down some changes you would like to make to your routine. Activities or people you would like to add in to your daily life. Things that you have been meaning to do. Things you have been thinking may be fun to try. Things you have been drawn to lately.

Like they say ” A change is as good as a holiday”!

And now – just sit with both lists for 10 – 20 minutes and let these ideas wash over you and seep into who you are.

Visualise the new you.

Visualise the re-invented you.

Visualise the updated version of you.

This is my new Easter Tradition and you are welcome to join.

A tradition based on the symbolism of many cultures and sculpted into a wonderful weekend of possibility, renewal and rebirth.

A kick start to your life and your world.

A reminder of the infinite possibilities that are all around you.

A gentle tap on the shoulder to remind you, that at any time you can bring more of what you want into your reality –  and quietly show what you do not want the door.

And with that – Happy Easter my friends.
